One of the struggles I face is from overseas competition, particularly the UK and Australia. Unfortunately their auctions appear both on the Australian and UK eBay websites as well as the US website giving these 2 regions an unfair competitive advantage over the US. In addition, I believe most people are not interested in buying items overseas, primarily because of the increased shipping costs. Most routine searches for my products produce results where the majority of items found are located outside the country. It becomes a burden for potential customers to have to weed through the items listed outside the US to view the ones listed inside unless they change the advanced setting feature to display only items located in the US.

I believe the net result for myself and eBay is a reduction in potential sales and new customers in order for eBay to gain a greater world market share.

One of the challenges I currently face is finding new credible sources for my products. A huge barrier for locating sources worldwide is the communication gap between English and the language of the the person I am attempting to communicate with, primarily China. Even if they speak English it is usually almost always non intelligible and I know that if I could bridge this gap I could greatly increase my profit margin. Trust is also a big issue. Ordering larger amounts from foreign sources that have difficulty with English can be scary and risky.

Business is going good and appears to be increasing from the holidays approaching. I am currently deciding which additional types of products to sell and will be most profitable and how I will manage my time form the increased business. I will be doing some Hammertap investigations on these additional products to see what the profit margins are and what the increase in volume will most likely be.

November 20, 2006 Time efficiency continues to be my biggest hurdle. My primary focus with Hammertap currently is the buying and selling of playstaion 3. It almost seems like short trading on the stock market except the risk and return is much greater. I will be using Hammertap and Jen as my inside guide to selling high. My store is currently floating at around 10 grand a month.
